New GPC Inc’s Elizabeth Ram makes a presentation to Petra’s Jacklyn Boodie in the presence of stakeholders Dennis Alexander, Troy Peters and Aliyah Hinds.
New GPC Inc., through its popular Limacol brand, has joined the list of corporate supporters for the sixth KFC International Goodwill Schools’ Football tournament.
The announcement was made during a ceremony on Thursday at the company’s headquarters in Farm, East Bank Demerara, where the sponsorship was highlighted as a key investment in youth development.
Elizabeth Ram, Marketing Manager for New GPC Inc, stated that the partnership reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and community empowerment.
“This marks another significant milestone in our company’s ongoing commitment to supporting youth development,” Ram shared. “Football has always been more than just a sport; it is a force that unites communities, inspires young people and instils values such as teamwork, discipline and ambition.”
Jacklyn Boodie, Secretary of the coordinating body, the Petra Organisation, thanked New GPC Inc for their long-standing partnership.
The tournament, which runs from Sunday, December 14, to Sunday, December 21, will feature an eight-school round-robin knockout format across two venues in Georgetown: the Ministry of Education Ground and the Queen’s College Ground.
The international flair is strong this year, with the tournament marking the debut of two schools: Monteiro Lobato School from Boa Vista, Brazil, and the Anglican Central Education Authority (ACEA) Select from the Bahamas.
They join established regional participants: Kingston College (Jamaica), St. Benedict’s College (Trinidad and Tobago), Chase’s Academic Foundation (Guyana) and Annai Secondary (Guyana).
The other two teams will be from Suriname, and the other will be from the ongoing Republic Bank School League in Georgetown.
